Day 4: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Characters Introduced:

Nothing again

Returning Characters:

And again

Key Moments:

  • Jack ties Paul to a chair and tries to convince Audrey to leave the room before the real Jack Bauer makes an appearance. She refuses so Jack goes straight to the advanced level with Paul. He explains what they found and that Paul needs to explain his connection. While doing this Jack has ripped open Paul’s shirt and dumped water all over him. Jack then exposes some wires and makes sparks in front of Paul. Paul stupidly says that he is bluffing. Jack responds by shocking the shit out of him. Audrey watches Jack work. When Jack moves to the temple, Paul spills that those records would be on his laptop.
  • Marwan arrives at the same office complex that Curtis is being held in. Marwan is provided with an id so he can work on the override inside the cubicle farm.
  • Its time for the introduction of badass Curtis; he feigns unconsciousness and jumps the 2 guards dragging him to his execution. He beats them both down and does a cool neck snap to finish one of them off.
  • Paul traces the building to a Harris Barnes. Jack sends the name to Sarah and she figures out that it is a fake name. The fake name leads them to Habib Marwan and the address that Curtis is at.
  • Tony interrogates Dina. After putting a little pressure on her, she writes down some names and says that she has heard of Marwan.
  • Marwan is notified of Curtis’ escape.
  • Jack is told that Curtis has gone missing at the location and a team is setting up a perimeter. Paul is feeling remorse and Jack being Jack now defends him and says he was chosen because of his connection to Heller.
  • Dina’s names check out as midlevel operatives but she clearly lied about Marwan, so Tony asks Driscoll for some room to work. This is why season 4 Tony became my hero. He gets meaner with his questioning but Dina doesn’t buy it. He calls the tech in the room to tell him to turn off the recording equitment, but Dina doesn’t buy it. He drags her ass into the control room to see him kick everyone including Driscoll out of the room, but Dina still doesn’t buy it. So Tony slams her against the wall and tells her that he will throw Behrooz into jail for murder and since he is a pussy he will probably commit suicide in 3 months. Also, Tony will make it his mission in life that Dina never hears a word about her son. Dina cracks and spills everything she knows about Marwan and confirms the location that Jack is heading to is where the override is located.
  • Marwan tells his men that he needs 30 minutes. Curtis takes one of the men hostage and confirms that Marwan and the override are onsite. Curtis knocks him out and takes his cell so call CTU.
  • Jack arrives, gets everyone in motion, and rolls out to meet up with Curtis.
  • Jack and crew ride up the elevator in a really cool shot. They meet up with Curtis and he tells them that they have 15 minutes. Jack and Curtis reach the office where Marwan is working only to find out that it is an actual busy floor of cubicles and they have no description of Marwan.
  • Jack and Curtis walk through the floor looking for anyone suspicious; Curtis slickly using a folder to hide his gun highlights this. Jack thinks he spots Marwan but it’s just a guy playing solitaire. You know normal office work.
  • Marwan’s last guy is able to tell him that CTU is onsite before being killed. This leads to a phenomenal moment where Marwan and Jack look right at each other with the same moment of realization. Jack yells “Curtis” and Marwan fires his gun in the air causing chaos. Curtis takes control of the override and Jack chases Marwan.
  • Curtis calls Edgar for assistance and we get lots of frenzied tech talk. Edgar is able to shut down the remaining plants.
  • Jack finds a dead CTU agent who was stripped of his uniform. He raises the alarm but Marwan is already killing another CTU agent on his way out of the building.

Ridiculousness:

  • Maya commits suicide in CTU medical. Thanks for that 24.

Running Totals:

Torture doesn’t mean you can’t be creative: 2 (23)

  • Paul got to see Jack work with the materials available to him at the moment.
  • I don’t know if what Tony did counts as torture but I want to highlight it again.
