Day 4: 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM

Characters Introduced:

  • Joe Prado (John Thaddeus): Marwan’s man for getting people out of LA.

Returning Characters:

Hey there was one last hour!

Key Moments:

  • Marwan has chosen the warhead he wants to steal and it is driving through the Midwest.
  • Chloe tells Tony and Michelle that one of Marwan’s men screwed up and used a credit card they are tracking.
  • The man calls Marwan for help and is told to go see Prado.
  • Paranoid Logan heads straight to the presidential bunker against Novick’s advise. Then when CTU’s update is not pleasant, everyone can see how scared Logan is. Mike ends the call before Logan can further embarrass himself.
  • Curtis is setting up the capture in the field. Prado shows up but no Marwan so Bill sends Curtis and his men in. Prado spots the agents, kills Marwan’s man, and gives himself up to Curtis.
  • Marwan needs to keep Prado quiet so he calls for a lawyer.
  • Audrey and Edgar discover that there is a missing warhead in Iowa.
  • Curtis has brought Prado back to CTU and begins the interrogation. Before the needles can be injected, Bill calls Curtis off. Prado has a lawyer and can’t be touched.
  • Jack arrives back at CTU and is pissed that Prado has not been broken yet. He tries to charm the attorney but that doesn’t work. He then realizes that the attorney got their way too fast so he and Bill know that Marwan sent him and Prado knows something.
  • CTU calls Logan, Mike, and Walt. Jack spells out what is necessary to get the information they need. Logan squirms at the idea. Mike agrees with Jack but Walt says it could damage Logan. Logan says he needs time. After the call, Jack proposes plan L to Bill. He will resign, Bill will release Prado, and Jack will question him outside of CTU.
  • And this is exactly what happens. Jack stuns the marshal escorting Prado. Jack cuffs Prado inside the car then jumps right into the breaking of fingers. When Jack brings out his blade, Prado gives up the location of a nightclub that Marwan is at.

Ridiculousness:

  • This Prado’s lawyer nonsense is just awful. 24 constantly feels bad about what happens on their show, so they feel the need to defend themselves. Torture is illegal so to prove that 24’s torture is okay we get an obviously guilty man being protected by a douchey attorney that was enlisted by the terrorist. See? Torture cuts through the bullshit.

Running Totals:

Torture doesn’t mean you can’t be creative: 1 (27)

  • Jack goes the old fashioned finger breaking route.
