• David Emerson (Peter Wingfield): The man running Tony’s crew. One of those wasted opportunity characters.

Key Moments:

• Air traffic listens to a recording of Tony talking to the pilot. Larry is notified.
• Renee calls Larry with their sniper problem. She then talks with Jack who jumps straight to the existence of a mole inside the FBI. YES! She blows him off and pretty much arrests him.
• Both the FBI and air traffic control cannot do anything to stop Tony.
• Tony tells Masters to send another plane into a collision course with the first plane.
• Tony calls air traffic control and tells them to watch a feed from a runway. The 2 planes are landing at the same time in the same place, until Tony has the first flight pull up at the last second. Tony tells them that this was a warning shot.
• Emerson arrives at Tony’s boat hideout. They talk the module and Latham. They move on to Gabriel and Jack. Tony has another job lined up but Emerson won’t give him the details. He says those are with Tanner.
• Taylor and Matobo are in mid-meeting. She pushes him to agree that Juma will not be killed but will be put on trial. He gives her his word. Afterwards, Ethan gives her the update on the near miss and warning.
• Tanner calls Tony with help in escaping the FBI.
• The FBI is sweeping the building for Tanner, while Jack is locked in the back of a SUV. He has a nice conversation with a FBI agent who thinks Jack is being mistreated.
• And FBI agent finds Tanner in the basement. Instead of arresting him, he says Tony sent him and gives him his FBI jacket and the keys to a vehicle. The agent then tells Renee that the basement is clear.
• Jack stretches his legs and Renee gives him the update. Jack spots Tanner leaving the building and notices that he is wearing dirty workboots instead of the regular FBI black shoes. Jack tells Renee and includes a dig at him getting help from the inside. He convinces her to track Tanner with Jack and leave the FBI out of it.
• Dubaku and Nichols are watching the day’s events in a classic 24-style control room. Emerson arrives with Latham and the device. Dubaku takes the module and Nichols says it is time to let Taylor know his demands.
• Taylor talks to the roundtable about how the firewall device can control the world. Ethan gets a call from Gedge about what Henry is doing.
• Jack and Renee are on the road when Larry calls. She lies to him but Jack doesn’t care; he just wants to be in the clear.
• Larry hangs up and tells Janis to track Renee.
• When Renee pushes Jack on whether he would have pen-stabbed Gabriel, Jack has had enough of explaining his actions. Thank you but this doesn’t end here.
• Henry meets Samantha where she works. He asks her about the money she received right after Roger’s death. She tells him a story about her aunt giving her the money. He doesn’t believe her and I don’t care.
• Tanner calls Tony to tell him he is on his way.
• Jack parks at the docks and he and Renee track Tanner on foot. Renee gives him a gun. Tanner hears a noise and goes exploring. Jack gets the jump on him and just starts beating him for information on Tony. Renee calls him off. Jack wraps a towel around his gun to silence it as he shoots the security camera. Jack walks Tanner as a hostage onto the boat but one of Tony’s men just shoots Tanner. Renee shoots him and Jack kills Masters when he appears. Jack heads into the boat looking for Tony. Renee finds a laptop but can’t stop the auto-delete. Tony makes a break for it but Jack chases him down. Tony knows Jack won’t shoot him and just looks at him before jumping off the boat to the dock. Jack chases him down with a cool leap from the boat to the boxes on the docks to Tony’s back. Jack quickly beats him down and starts screaming at him. Larry arrives by chopper to see this. Jack continues asking but Tony just stares at him. Jack is destroyed over this.
