Day 7: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Characters Introduced:

None

Returning Characters:

  • Bill Buchanan (last episode of season 6)
  • Chloe O’Brian (last episode of season 6)

Key Moments:

  • Stevens delivers Dubaku’s demands to Taylor. He wants all American forces out of Sangala.
  • The helicopter lands at FBI headquarters and everyone piles out. Larry starts yelling at Renee but Jack steps in and tells him about the leak. Larry listens but still takes a jab at Jack. Jack seems to be bemused by Larry’s anger.
  • Janis preps Tony for interrogation, which involves lifting his shirt up and placing sensors on his chest. When she finishes, Renee sends her after the mole. Jack and Renee watch from the observation room as Tony just stares straight ahead.
  • Sean whines to Janis about the new security restrictions instituted to track the leak.
  • Nichols tells Emerson to cut ties with Tony. Dubaku is pissed Taylor hasn’t backed down already.
  • Larry tells Renee that Tony is connected to Juma; Jack overhears this and wants to talk to Tony. Larry gives him the chance. We are now gifted with a scene that only happens when characters with history on 24 get to go at it. Jack tries and tries to get Tony to explain his actions, but Tony won’t give him anything. Instead, Tony turns it around and details all the reasons why it is crazy that Jack is helping the government. We even get reaction shots from Renee and Larry because Tony is making a lot of sense. Eventually Tony takes a step too far when he brings up Teri a couple of times causing Jack to toss the table and yoke Tony against the wall. He just starts choking him. Renee tells Larry to wait a second. Jack says the awesome line, “I’ll kill you and this time you’ll stay dead.” Tony whispers “deep sky” before Larry calls off Jack. Jack is kicked out of the room and he walks into a private room to call a number. The person who answers first uses a voice modulator but then he reveals himself as Bill. And, of course, he is working with Chloe. Bill tells Jack he will call him on a secure line in 10 minutes.
  • Ethan meets with Henry when he returns to the White House. He tells him to stop his investigations and gives him a report that says Roger was under investigation by the SEC and that is why he committed suicide. Allison hid this from Henry.
  • Bill calls back and Jack is pissed. But once again Bill is awesome and he calmly explains his insane plan. Tony is undercover, members of the government are helping Juma, and their investigation is illegal. They need to get Tony back under and near the device. Chloe has her fun moment saying hi to Jack and telling him he looked good at the hearings. Jack recommends Renee but Bill convinces him it will only put her in danger. Jack agrees to get Tony but will need Chloe’s help with the escape.
  • Samantha calls Henry and tells him that he was right and Roger was murdered.
  • Larry goes with the basic questioning of Tony and is torn apart by Tony. He just stares at the camera and denies without so much as a bleep from the machines. Renee tells Larry that Tony will not break unless they step it up. He responds by yelling at her and kicking her out of the room and wants Jack out of building.
  • Janis has found the leak and runs to the FBI version of the server room to do something. Shockingly it is Sean who just happens to be standing behind her. He explains his actions by saying that his wife is stuck on one of the planes and he was monitoring it.
  • Jack and Chloe are prepping for his crazy plan. Renee walks into the room and begins the paperwork to boot Jack. He signs the papers and puts the choke on her. He even says, “don’t fight it” as she goes to sleep. YES! He takes her gun and access card.
  • Bill is driving his blue pedo-van to a location Chloe gives him. She is also walking Jack through the halls. Jack walks into the interrogation room and starts yelling at Larry and the guard. He disarms them and knocks Larry out when he gets mouthy. Tony takes out the guard and picks up the 2 guns. Jack tells Tony that he spoke to Bill. In a moment that will never not make me smile, as they are hiding Tony apologizes for what he said but he needed to get Jack close. Jack says it was lucky he didn’t snap Tony’s neck. Tony says it was close and Jack just says, “sorry about that.” Tony smirks because that’s Jack.
  • Janis figures out that Chloe is in the system and starts trying to lock her out.
  • Chloe gives Jack one last piece of direction before being kicked out of the system.
  • Janis calls a code when she sees that Larry is down in the interrogation room.
  • Without Chloe’s help, Jack and Tony have to make a move so they run into a stairwell.
  • Janis catches them on camera and Larry gets everyone in motion.
  • Chloe tells Jack that they have been spotted so Jack breaks a window and they jump out to the parking garage. Tony gets the badass moment of running at a full sprint and jumping out of the parking lot onto the top of a car exploding the windows. Jack is under fire so he hot wires a car and drives off the second level and crashes into a bunch of cars to make his escape. They hop into the back of Bill’s van. Bill still won’t answer Jack’s questions.

Ridiculousness:

Running Totals:
