Characters Introduced:
- Samir Mehran (Mido Hamada): The lead terrorist from the fake country. He has no interest in taking the weapons out of the US.
- Agent Owen (Julian Morris): An actual new idea for a field agent. He gets the old Agent Baker role of guy that Jack works with out in the field but this time he is really young and inexperienced.
Key Moments:
- Cole updates Hastings that Jack was taken through the sewers. Since they can’t track him, Hastings turns his anger on Renee.
- Jack is brought back to Sergei’s restaurant. Sergei is told that Vladimir is dead and that Jack knew about the rods. Jack is dragged to the basement and strung up. Sergei asks him how he knew about the rods but Jack just starts pitching his deal for them. Since Jack won’t tell him who he works for, Sergei thinks he may be a cop and tells his man to start working on Jack to get him answers. Sergei leaves and updates Josef that the deal has to be delayed until Jack is broken.
- Jack is getting electrocuted with jumper cables.
- Samir calls Farhad to discuss their plans for the nuclear rods. Sergei and Josef arrive to tell Farhad the deal has to be delayed until Jack talks. Farhad gets mouthy so Josef puts a gun to his head to threaten and calm him down. Sergei kicks him out of the restaurant and tells him that he will be contacted when the deal will go down. Josef follows to make sure Farhad leaves without incident.
- Cole and Renee arrive back at CTU. Renee whines about Jack but Hastings jumps all over her about Vladimir. He wants her statement on what happened now.
- Since Kevin is blackmailing Dana, she involves Cole in her shit storyline.
- Jack’s torture continues with more shocks until he passes out. When the torturer leans in to give him smelling salts, Jack uses his magic feet to grab the jumper cable and shock him until he passes out. Jack monkeys up the pips to try to kick himself free.
- Obsessed Hassan tries to ignore Kayla at his door but she won’t leave. When he lets her in, she questions his actions, says Tarin is innocent, and then tells him that she is in love with Tarin. Hassan forbids her from seeing Tarin anymore.
- Jack frees himself just as the torturer wakes up. We get a quick hand-to-hand that ends with Jack snapping his neck in some sort of MMA leghold. He searches the body to get a gun. Jack spies Sergei walk up to the restaurant floor, so he turns off the power. The thug that comes to turn the power back on gets stabbed in the heart. Jack grabs his cell phone and calls Cloe and leaves the phone open so she can trace it. Jack takes out 2 of Sergei’s men before getting to the restaurant floor. Sergei pins him down with shotgun fire but Jack tosses a table at him to knock him out.
- CTU sends Jack all the information that they have on Sergei. Jack makes his pitch to him. All he wants is the rods and he will help Sergei and his family in exchange. Sergei wants immunity for himself and his surviving son. Jack calls Hastings and then gets connected to Taylor to tell them that cracking Sergei would be too difficult in the time they have. Jack says they should take the immunity deal. Taylor asks to speak with Sergei first.
- Kayla pleads with Nabeel to allow her to speak with Tarin. He doesn’t allow it now but says she can have a minute when Tarin is about to be transferred to their embassy.
- Cole is in the air to the location Sergei gave for the rods. He lands and all the agents rush towards the truck. They open it to find 2 dead Russians and no nuclear rods. Agent Owen spots a necklace hanging from the back of the truck.
- Hastings angrily calls Jack who puts it on speakerphone for Sergei. Sergei doesn’t understand until he is told about the necklace.
- Josef calls Farhad to say he is delivering the rods in 5 minutes.
