Day 8: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Characters Introduced:

  • Jim Ricker (Michael Madsen): Now that is a casting choice. I’d like to think he was introduced here so he can be brought back for the movie. He is an old Jack contact who probably owes his life and facial scar to Jack Bauer.
  • Mark Bledsoe (D.B. Sweeney): Yes! Cutting Edge comes to 24 now with mustache! Pillar’s hardass security merc brought in to handle Dana.
Returning Characters:

None

Key Moments:

  • Chloe is trying to talk Jack but he is not responding. The CGI helicopter chase ends when Jack lands on a building … it is that easy? The chasing helicopter watches as Jack climbs down the building. Jack reaches the ground and disappears by walking under trees … what the hell? This is the weakest escape ever. Jack gets into a crowd of people before any cops can reach him.
  • Cole asks Chloe what Jack is doing and she tells him that Jack is going to follow Dana’s lead or die trying. She sends Cole out into the field to bring Jack in.
  • Ethan gives Taylor the bad news about Jack. He tells her that covering up the Russian involvement is grounds for impeachment. She still thinks Jack will be caught but Ethan says the evidence is out there whether or not Jack finds it. He gets through to her and she asks him to prepare a statement about America’s removal from the peace treaty.
  • Logan is waiting when Taylor exits the elevator. She tells him about backing out of the treaty. Instead of attacking her, Logan offers another option. They can declare Dana to be an enemy combatant so she can be interrogated without the evidence getting out. He doesn’t even deny that she will be tortured for the information. Logan hops on his soapbox again about the power of the Presidency.
  • Taylor calls Chloe and tells her she wants Dana transferred to a safehouse. Chloe argues but Taylor says she is sending a private security firm to handle the transfer. Chloe balks again but Taylor says Jack has too many contacts in the government. Logan was literally standing over Taylor’s shoulder the whole time.
  • Jack buys a whole bunch of disposable cell phones and calls Chloe with one. I love that Jack asks for her help like everything is normal. Chloe stands up to him and when Jack gets stern she even asks if he is threatening her. Eventually she tells him that Dana is being moved off site. Jack ends the call, tosses the phone, pick ups another, and calls Jim Ricker. Jack is calling in a favor and wants Ricker to gear him up.
  • Mark Bledsoe arrives at CTU and calls Pillar before heading in. He wants to kill Dana when they are done instead of handing her back to CTU. Pillar says he will get back to him. Chloe greets Bledsoe and walks him through CTU. She hassles him to see the Presidential order as an excuse to download his cell data. Yeah Chloe does. Bledsoe tells Dana what is happening and drags her out of the white room. Dana freaks out and tells Chloe that they are going to kill her. Chloe goes through the cell data and finds the location Dana is being taken to. She calls Cole and tells him that she can’t help Jack. She walks onto the CTU floor and tells everyone that they are organizing a sting operation to capture Jack Bauer.
  • Ricker gets a security alert when Jack approaches his door. He lets him in and shows him the gear Jack asked for. Ricker wants to know what Jack did but Jack says it is about what Jack might do. Jack calls Chloe for the location and she gives him one. Jack tells Ricker to stay behind in case he needs him later on.
  • Cole is prepping the ambush site. Chloe tells Cole she wants non-lethal force but Cole can’t promise that.
  • Ethan delivers Taylor the statement and she tells him that she is following Logan’s plan. She explains what is going on and Ethan resigns in protest. Basically this is a polite fuck you for listening to Charles Logan.
  • Jack is scouting the location Chloe sent him. She sends him the schematics for the building and Jack tells her he is going in. Cole spots Jack crossing the street and tells the men to get ready. Jack gets the weapons he needs and stashing his gigantic gun bag under a truck. He knocks out the outside man and then sends Chloe false information. He picks up the unconscious guy and walks into the building. Jack puts the guy on a laundry bag and sends him through the warehouse to confuse everyone. He disarms another agent and holds him hostage. He tells Cole and the other 2 agents to drop their weapons. He puts everyone but Cole on the ground. He tells Cole that he knows Chloe and has him call her and say that Jack has been caught. Afterwards, Jack has Cole ties up the other agents.
  • Cole has finished up tying his agents when Jack tells him to come into the other room and sit down. Jack wants Cole’s help in finding Dana. He makes his pitch, which is solid, and ends it by tossing Cole a gun. Cole agrees and Jack takes him out of the building like a hostage for the rest of the agents to see.
  • Ethan takes the time to talk to Logan. This is 2 great actors going at it. Ethan threatens and Logan gloats.
  • Bledsoe and his men bring Dana to their torture lab. He politely asks for the evidence but Dana denies. He starts prepping because it’s go time.
  • Taylor delivers a public address on the treaty but when she says “peace must be obtained at any cost” Ethan walks out of the room.

Ridiculousness:

  • Taylor’s horrific decision making continues this hour. Logan should be wearing a spandex outfit and carrying a cane by now.

Running Totals:

Jack loves America not Americans: 2 (40)

  • Those CTU agents had no chance.
