Day 1: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Characters Introduced:

  • Mark DeSalvo (Lou Diamond Phillips): Warden of the secret detention facility. Sadly, he will be the only other actor from Young Guns or Young Guns II that will ever appear on 24.
  • Victor Drazen (Dennis Hopper): The man Jack was supposed to have killed 2 years ago. Very much alive, very much crazy violent, and very much speaking in one of the worst Eastern European accents every attempted.

Key Moments:

  • After Mason ditches him because Alexis is awake, Jack finds an underground complex. While walking down to the door countermeasures disorientate him and guards come out and nail him with stun guns.
  • When Jack comes to, he finds himself in a secret government detention facility that will be receiving a new prisoner within the hour. Jack puts in motion a plan to protect them from an imminent Drazen attack.
  • After all the bullshit of the day, Sherry tries to act as the loving wife now that it is clear that David is going to become the next President of the United States. When David has none of it, the real Sherry violently appears as she flat out tells David that she will be the First Lady and there is nothing he can do about it.
  • Kim is unable to convince the arresting office to call CTU and is tossed into the gangsta bitch central that is the local jail.
  • Jack eventually gets permission to interrogate the incoming prisoner, the thought to be dead Victor Drazen. A great scene takes place with Jack explaining who is and what he has done to Drazen, while Victor just sits there seething while audibly breathing.
  • The power goes out in the facility.

Ridiculousness:

  • Even though David is running for president, he is unable to get voting results from his own staff. Instead he turns to the television in order to find out that he has one the primary.

Running Totals:

Damn you 24 for not resorting to any cliches in this hour.
