Day 1: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Characters Introduced:

We are still in mid-season climax time, so no time for new folks.

Key Moments:

  • Jack calls Nina for help with satellite footage of the Gaines’ compound. He puts Kevin in the driver seat and has him get through the front gate.
  • David makes multiple attempts to warn Keith’s therapist about Carl.
  • Once inside the gates, Kevin starts messing with Jack about his wife. This leads to Jack beating him unconscious.
  • Jack finds his family and they have a group hug. He then chokes the hell out of Rick when he bursts in. Kim screams hysterically for him to stop because she cares more about Rick than her own family.
  • Keith’s therapist was killed in a fire. David suspects Carl, come on, people die in fires every single day why so suspicious?
  • Now that he has found his family, Jack calls Green to get CTU support. Beautifully, he hangs up on Green before she can respond.
  • Gaines finds Kevin in Jack’s car and sounds the alarm once Kevin says Bauer is inside the compound.
  • The Bauers escape in Rick’s stolen van. Gaines gives chase. Gunfight ensues. Jack sends his family to some water tower on the compound. He then blows up the van when the Gaines men advance on him. Rick is shot and Jack drags him off into the woods to end the hour.

Ridiculousness:

  • After Jack reunites with his family, he goes back to get the car but Teri won’t let him. I guess she would rather the family die together than actually escape.

Running Totals:

Damnit: 2

  • After he beats Kevin unconscious, Jack screams “damnit” in frustration. I am only going to count it when that is the only word Jack screams; not if it is within a larger sentence.
  • We get a second “damnit” when Jack can’t find his family.

Jack’s Body Count: 3 (5.5)

  • This is an estimate of who died in the Jack v. Gaines gunfight.
