Day 1: 11:00 PM - 12:00 AM

Characters Introduced:

No introductions but there were a few burials.

Key Moments:

  • Kim makes her full escape and calls CTU. Mason takes the calls and confirms her location while Kim tells him to warn her father.
  • Jack and Andre speak and by speak I mean that they yell demands at each other. When Andre reveals that he knows Palmer is alive, Jack knows there is another mole.
  • Jack immediately calls Nina and tells her to find the mole in CTU. So close Jack so close.
  • While Mike and David discuss their victory, a television report airs explaining that Palmer is alive. David loses his mind and storms off to find Sherry. The rage he shows is quite terrifying and clearly shakes the hell out of Sherry. Great range by Haysbert.
  • Nina calls Andre with all the new information. Victor orders her to tell Jack that Kim is dead so he will get enraged and come after them. Nina does this and it gets the reaction they want. First Jack breaks down then the power of rage takes over and he grabs a second gun and more clips. Go time…
  • The Drazens lock and load like they are ready; nobody is ready when Jack comes a knocking. Jack drives a van through their hideout. He takes out all resistance and ends up having a shootout with Victor and Andre on the docks. Jack take out Andre first but is clipped by one of Victor’s bullets. As Jack falls, Victor tries to finish him off but is out of ammo. Jack stares him down before shooting him, roughly, 10 times and continuing to pull the trigger 5 more times even after he runs out of bullets. There are men to fuck with in this world; Jack Bauer is not one of them.
  • There is a great moment where Mason reports that Jack took out all of the Drazens; his astonishment over Jack’s action is hilarious. Nina hears this and starts her escape. Teri hears this and goes looking for Nina … it’s been 8 years and I still don’t understand why either. Nina finds a hidden briefcase, kills a technician, and contacts her German handler. Teri somehow stumbles upon Nina’s secret room, hears her speak German, eventually spots the dead body, and is unable to keep it secret from Nina. Nina takes her hostage.
  • Jack talks to the Coast Guard in an attempt to find Kim’s body. When the Coast Guard has no idea what he is talking about, Jack realizes that Nina is the mole.
  • Jack informs Mason that Nina is the mole and gets the archived footage of Jamey’s death proving that it was Nina not suicide.
  • David meets Sherry in an empty ballroom where he calmly explains that she is a horrible human being and will never be the First Lady of the United States even if it damns his political career. Sherry goes out with the classic shrieking villain act as her power is stripped from her.
  • Nina’s handler gives her a location and tells her to make sure she cannot be traced to Germany. She takes out multiple CTU guards on her way to the parking garage. Jack pulls into the garage just as she tries to get out. They exchange gunfire from their driver seats. Nina crashes and Jack drags her out of the car at gunpoint. Crazed Jack berates her while she pleads for her life claiming she has information. Jack’s gun hand is twitching with anger but Mason is able to talk him down by telling him that Kim is waiting for him.
  • Jack and Kim reunite which is nice but Jack wonders where is Teri. Jack retraces Nina’s steps and finds Teri tied to a chair with a gut shot. No emotional goodbye; she is already dead. Jack holds her dead body, crying and apologizing over and over.
  • Silent clock

Ridiculousness:

One of the few hours where I have absolutely nothing to make fun of.

Running Totals:

The Healing Power of Jack Tears: 2 (4)

  • When Nina lies about Kim being dead.
  • Jack holding Teri’s dead body.

Jack’s Body Count: 7 (14.5)

  • Even though we only see 3 kills, Mason reports that Jack killed 7 men at the docks so that’s the official number.
